Sales & Business Development Manager 💩
The disposable diaper industry is worth 71 billion dollars and we plan to disrupt it. Not with big talk, but with data, a scientifically proven method and an app that has already been downloaded more than 50,000 times. At De Pot Op you won’t get micromanagement, but trust. We give our people real responsibility and encourage independent working. As part of an international and diverse team in The Hague, you will contribute to how we grow — from strategy to execution.
What will you do?
No two days are the same. One day you’re speaking with the director of a large childcare chain, the next with an alderman or a policy officer. That variety makes this work substantively rich and challenging. From first contact to signed contract, you are a driving force behind our growth:
- You build a consistent outbound pipeline via email, LinkedIn and phone. You’re not afraid to pick up the phone when needed.
- You convert leads into meetings, primarily targeting childcare organisations and municipalities.
- You conduct sales conversations from first contact to first contract and continuously adapt your approach based on what you learn.
- You keep the CRM clean and complete. Every contact, every meeting and every development is logged.
- You report weekly on your outreach and results, share insights on objections and patterns, and continuously improve your conversion rate.
- You work closely with CCO Jos to sharpen messaging and seize opportunities.
What is it like to work at De Pot Op?
We are a close-knit, international team with colleagues from different countries and backgrounds — and you notice that every day. People work hard, but there’s also a lot of laughter. We are honest with each other, help each other grow and celebrate our successes. This is not a place where you’re just one cog in a big machine. Here you actively help build something new.
Our shared values say enough about who we are:
- Stand up for our planet
- Happy people
- Innovative & tech first
- Independent + evidence based
- Get shit done
What we’re looking for
- Disciplined sales professional: You know that consistency is the secret to a strong pipeline. No peaks and valleys — the same engine running every week. You’re not afraid to pick up the phone when needed.
- Structured worker: You love order in your own head and in the CRM. You log everything, report proactively and keep your pipeline so clean that others can rely on it blindly.
- Learning-oriented seller: You analyse your own conversion figures, adjust your approach based on what you hear and actively ask for feedback. You visibly grow from quarter to quarter.
- Strong communicator: You adapt your tone whether you’re speaking to the director of a childcare chain or a municipal alderman. You listen carefully, ask the right questions and know when to push and when to wait.
- Mission-driven professional: You’re not just selling software licences. You’re helping organisations get children potty trained earlier — better for children, better for the planet. It doesn’t have to be your whole life, but it does need to mean something to you.
What we require
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commercial Economics, Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent
- 2 to 5 years of demonstrable B2B sales experience, preferably in childcare, healthcare or a startup/scaleup
- Proven track record in outbound sales
- Familiar with CRM tools (Odoo or similar) and pipeline management
- Fluent in Dutch (required) and good command of English
- Independent and results-driven — you don’t need daily guidance to hit your targets
Nice to have: experience with municipalities or public institutions as a target group.
What we offer
- Part-time position of 24 hours per week, with the possibility of increasing hours over time
- Flexible scheduling, hybrid working from our office in The Hague and from home
- A key role in a fast-growing startup where you help shape the commercial direction
- A great deal of freedom and responsibility — you’re building something that truly works
- Market-competitive salary including an employee share plan
- Start date to be discussed
Who we are
We are a social enterprise from The Hague with one clear mission: getting children out of diapers sooner. In the 1940s, children were potty trained around their first birthday — today it’s around their third. That can change. With our app and software, we help parents, childcare organisations and municipalities with a positive, scientifically grounded approach.
